Ingredients

  • 8 pounds sliced red onions
  • 8 pound portabella or portabello mushrooms
  • 8 pounds swiss cheese
  • 60 ounces A1 steak sauce and marinade
  • 120 slices rye bread
  • 60 each original Gardenburger patty
  • 1 cup canola oil

Directions

 
1. Begin with thawed garden burgers.

2. Prepare vegetables, slice portabellas and onions.

3. In kettle, heat canola oil and sauté vegetables. 4. Coat 1 side of rye bread slices with Tablespoon layer of A1 sauce.
5. Assemble sandwich: bottom layer of rye, slice of swiss, 2 ounces sautéed vegetables, garden burger, slice of swiss and top layer of rye.
6. Bake in over 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
